CORVALLIS, Ore. - The Washington State Cougars (4-5) imploded against the Oregon State Beavers (2-7), falling 10-7 after a missed game-tying field goal inside a minute to go.
Zevi Eckhaus finished his least-efficient game of the season, throwing just shy over 50% passing, but no touchdowns and two interceptions. Running back Kirby Vorhees led the Cougs in rushing with 46 yards and the lone score.
WSU finished with 10 penalties for 90 yards, and they didn't force any turnovers. Wazzu also finished 2-12 on third down, and they missed their only fourth down attempt of the game in the fourth quarter.
Today was Oregon State's first FBS win since beating Washington State last November.
WSU returns to Pullman next Saturday against the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m.
