CORVALLIS, Ore. — It wasn’t pretty, but it was gritty, and for Oregon State, it was enough. Oregon State earned its most meaningful win of the season Saturday night, defeating Washington State 10-7 in the long-anticipated “Battle of the Pac-2” at Reser Stadium.
In a matchup between the two remaining members of the Pac-12, the Beavers (2-7) overcame a slow offensive performance with strong defense and timely execution to secure their second consecutive victory under interim head coach Robb Akey.
“I think that him being head coach was a great decision to make,” said Beaver outside linebacker Takari Hickle. “We all trust him. He’s a good guy. He’s a great leader.”
