DULUTH, Minn. (Northern News Now) - Wildwoods, the largest wildlife rehabilitation center in northern Minnesota, received the five acres of land that the non-profit works on from the organization’s founders.
To celebrate, Wildwoods opened its doors to the public.
Volunteers gave tours of their center, which is usually closed to the public, and showcased why their organization is important in the northland.
Attendees said the celebration was a great opportunity to see how their donation was helping local wildlife.
“You can tell that they really care about what they’re doing, and that’s huge,” said attendee Laurel Leonzal. “And it’s just really neat to see the facility and what they have all set up for the animals.”
Last year, Wildwoods helped over 1,000 animals, from squirrels to deer
