A Macomb County woman is being held in connection to a hit-and-run crash that took the life of an elderly woman in St. Clair Shores, police said Saturday night.
According to a news release, the incident began earlier Saturday morning when police were called to investigate a report of a dead woman on the ground in the area of 13 Mile Road and Greater Mack Avenue.
When officers arrived about 9:40 a.m. to the 21000 Francis Street near Champine Street they found the deceased woman.
“Upon further investigation, the victim had injuries consistent with being struck by a vehicle,” police said in the release.
Investigators have since identified the suspect driver as a 31-year-old St. Clair Shores woman. She has been arrested, according to police.
