STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. -- The 2025 TCS New York City Marathon will begin at 8 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 2, and runners will travel 26.2 miles through all five boroughs, causing various road closures throughout the day.
The iconic event kicks off, as always, on Staten Island, where participants will journey from Fort Wadsworth and cross the Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge toward Brooklyn.
Participants will then run through Brooklyn, Queens, Manhattan and the Bronx as part of the course before finishing in Central Park.
To accommodate the waves of runners during the marathon’s start, MTA Bridges and Tunnels will close the lower level of the Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge to all non-emergency vehicular traffic between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Sunday.
