MALAPPURAM: The Muslim League distanced itself from state general secretary of the Muslim League, P M A Salam’s remarks against Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. Muslim League chief Panakkad Sadiq Ali Shihab Thangal said no one should be personally insulted.
‘The opposition can pinpoint the government's lapses; can criticize politically. However, it should not stoop to the level of personal insult. It is not the policy of the party. Everyone should be careful in such matters,' he responded. Speaking at a Muslim League conference in Malappuram’s Vazhakkad panchayat, Salam criticized Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan for signing the PM Shri agreement. The chief minister should either be a man or a woman. He said that we have a chief minister who is not both.
