Vitor Pereira regrets not leaving Wolves at the start of the season, talkSPORT understands.
Pereira was sacked on Sunday morning for failing to win any of his first 10 games this season.
Wolves sit rooted to the bottom of the Premier League table with their chances of survival looking bleak.
Pereira took over at Molineux in December 2024 and helped keep them in the top flight, which included a run of six straight wins in March and April.
The 57-year-old ended up signing a new three-year contract in September, but barely a month later he was shown the door.
