More tails will be wagging at Niagara SPCA and Humane Society after the organization received a much-welcomed boost of funding to help more dogs find homes.
The funding comes as part of a Canadian grant program supporting shelters and rescues working to increase dog adoptions and keep pets with their families.
In celebration of National Adopt a Shelter Dog Month, Pedigree Foundation announced the recipients last week, which focused on programs that boost dog adoption rates.
Niagara SPCA is one of 10 Canadian shelter programs — including four in Ontario — to receive a share of a $110,000 grant to support its shelter program development.
The funds will help recipient shelters expand fostering, behaviour and adoption matching, transport, remote community support and safety net programs.
