In five-pin bowling, a match can be considered close if the teams are separated by 100 pins or less, and this week, three of the five Niagara Five Pin Mixed Pro League matches were tight affairs.
The closest, decided by a mere headpin, saw the Fiddler’s Pourhouse Fighting Irish eke out a 2-1 decision over the A’Lure Nails.
Jeff Stevens paced the winners with his season-high, 773 (323, 281). Tyler Wendel backed him up with 709 (215, 211, 283) and Brad Gaudreau with a 671 (269, 202).
Replying for the Nails were Kile Robins, who had the best individual performance of the evening, 832 (388, 287). Chris Gravelle rounded out the scoring with 696 (245, 273).
The second-closest match — this one decided by 11 pins — saw the Shawn’s Eavestrough Cleaning Gutterdusters edge D Fisher Legacy 2-1. Ch
