Maryland came in with a well thought-out gameplan against No. 2 Indiana on Saturday.
Boasting a pair of budding stars at edge rusher, the Terrapins resolved to heat up IU quarterback Fernando Mendoza, play press coverage on the outside and thereby take away the Hoosiers' bread and butter, the quick passing game.
To a large extent, the plan worked. Mendoza threw an interception on the game's first series and managed only 201 passing yards. For most teams, if its Heisman Trophy-candidate quarterback posted that stat line on the road, it would've spelled trouble.
