A major road accident has occurred in Phalodi, Rajasthan. In the Mathoda area of Bapini sub-division, a tempo traveller rammed into a stationary truck, killing 15 passengers and injuring two others.

All the victims were returning after visiting Kolayat in Bikaner. While returning, their tempo traveller crashed into a trailer parked on the roadside near Mathoda. The two injured were given first aid in Osian and later referred to Jodhpur for further treatment.

Mathoda police station in-charge Amanaram said the accident took place around 6:30 pm on the Bharatmala Highway. The tempo traveller hit the parked trailer from behind. All the bodies have been kept in the mortuary of Osian Government Hospital.
