After trimming the work force, Microsoft has again planned to take techies on board. Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella said that the company will focus on AI and automation to keep itself ahead of others. The company will add roles accordingly.

According to a report published by Timesnow, Satya Nadella shared his views on Brad Gerstner’s BG2 podcast. He said, “I will say we will grow our headcount, but the way I look at it is, that headcount we grow will grow with a lot more leverage than the headcount we had pre-AI.”

As per a CNBC report, Microsoft’s manpower was 228,000 employees, down by more than 6,000 following multiple rounds of layoffs during the financial year ending June 2025. The tech company cut another 9,000 positions as part of its restructuring efforts.
