ARKWRIGHT, N.Y. — Firefighters responded to a house fire in the Town of Arkwright on Sunday morning.

According to the Forestville Fire Department, at around 5:45 a.m. Sunday, fire companies received reports of a structure fire at a home on Park Road in the Town of Arkwright.

Authorities say that the resident of the home had evacuated with her dog by the time firefighters arrived on seen.

According to Forestville Fire, a dry hydrant was used at first, but then could not supply more water due to unknown reasons. Another hydrant, reportedly three miles down the road, was then used to extinguish the fire. Three additional fire tankers from surrounding companies were then requested due to the water issues.
