HENRY COUNTY, Ind. — A serious crash involving a Cadiz Police officer and another vehicle is currently being investigated by the Indiana State Police.
According to ISP, at 6:50 a.m. on Sunday, emergency crews were called to State Road 38 and Mechanicsburg Road for a crash involving a Cadiz Police vehicle.
Investigators believe the police vehicle was stopped on the side of the road for an "as-yet-undisclosed reason." The officer was standing outside of the vehicle when a 2019 Toyota Rav 4 struck the rear of the police vehicle.
The officer was seriously injured and flown by a helicopter to Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, where he is currently in stable condition.
The driver of the Toyota was transported to a local hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
