KINGSTON, N.Y. — For the past decade, customer visits to People’s Place Thrift Store in Midtown have nearly tripled.
That’s according to Christine Hein, the agency’s executive director.
So, it’s no wonder a larger space for the popular store was becoming necessary.
Recently, that happened as the People’s Place Thrift Store, the main engine feeding the agency’s budget and its multiple programs, moved into a larger space at the 17 St. James Street complex. The store now takes up 5,800 square feet of space.
“The Thrift Store serves thousands of customers each year and sells well over a quarter million items annually,” Hein said in an email. “Patronage has steadily grown over the years, more than tripling over the past decade. The lowest levels of traffic occurred more than 10 years ago, w
