Alan Carr has jetted abroad ahead of The Celebrity Traitors finale, admitting: "I'm the most hated man in the UK."

The comedian ruthlessly banished fan-favourite actress Celia Imrie during Thursday's instalment, and acknowledged his treacherous behaviour on the show has made him deeply unpopular with viewers.

Despite this, the 49 year old insists his celebrity co-stars are "thick" for not recognising his transparent eliminations.

Speaking whilst accompanying his nephew and niece to Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida, Alan explained: "That's why I'm in America.

"I'm the most hated man in the UK. I've had to come here to Orlando to get away from it all - everyone hates me.
