GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) - Halloween season has come to an end, and Alachua County residents can now dispose of their leftover pumpkins sustainably.
In cooperation with the City of Gainesville and Alachua County, O-Town Compost is offering free pumpkin composting services.
From Nov. 3 to 10, drop off leftover pumpkins at nine different locations throughout the county, including Reserve Park in Gainesville, Archer Rural Collection Center in Archer and Alachua/High Springs Rural Collection Center in High Springs. Find the complete location list here .
O-Town Compost aims to reduce waste in Florida’s landfills and support local agriculture by transforming food waste into compost.
