A man was accused of lighting up an apartment building in Redwood City on Saturday morning, leaving three apartment units damaged, the Redwood City Police Department said.
Police said they arrested 35-year-old Eliaser HernandezValadez on suspicion of arson following an apartment building fire.
Authorities said officers responded to the fire in the 1300 block of Marshall Street just before 8 a.m.
All residents were safely evacuated, and no immediate injuries were reported, according to officials. However, police added three apartment units sustained fire and/or water damage as a result of the incident.
Investigators from the police and fire departments learned the fire may have been intentionally set by a suspect, who was identified as HernandezValadez, according to authorities.
