VAN, Texas — Emergency crews responded to a structure fire following a reported propane tank explosion.

Smith County Emergency Services District #2 coordinator Nikki Simmons said the call came in around 2:53 p.m. for a structure fire along CR 447 caused by a propane tank explosion.

Simmons said one individual was reported missing after the explosion, but has since been found and is safe.

Van Zandt County Sheriff Kevin Bridger said fire crews from Van Fire Department and Smith County responded.

According to the Lindale Fire Department, the home was destroyed from the fire and it is under investigation.
