AUBURN, Ala. ( WBRC ) - Former Auburn head coach Hugh Freeze released a statement Sunday afternoon after he was fired from the program earlier in the day .
Freeze said that serving as the head coach at Auburn was one of the greatest honors of his career and that he felt the warmth, passion, and support of Auburn.
Freeze was fired from Auburn after the Tigers 10-3 loss to Kentucky Saturday night .
In his time on the plains, Freeze was 15-19 overall and 6-16 in SEC play.
Tigers defensive coordinator DJ Durkin will serve as the interim coach.
