The New York Giants fell 34-24 to the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday, dropping to 2-7 on the NFL season and extending a three-game slide that has put added pressure on head coach Brian Daboll.
Christian McCaffrey was the star on Sunday, finishing with 173 yards from scrimmage (106 rushing, 67 receiving) and two touchdowns as the 49ers leaned on a balanced attack that set the tone early.
Quarterback Mac Jones filled in admirably for starter Brock Purdy yet again, completing 19 of 24 passes for 235 yards and two first-half touchdowns that swung the game.
Daboll addressed whether a change in defensive play-calling was on the table after the loss, saying bluntly: "None of us did a good enough job. That starts with me, so we'll continue to work at it."
