AMARILLO (KAMR/KCIT) — The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits will be delayed for November, affecting 3.5 million Texans and 1 in 11 people in the Panhandle.

Since the announcement of the delay, local restaurants, businesses, and non-profits have announced their plans to help the community. We have compiled a full list of these businesses, and they can be viewed on MyHighPlains.com.

One local business working to support the community is Malcolm's Ice Cream & Food. The restaurant, from now until the government reopens, will be offering its kids' meals for $4 and $1 off their burgers.
