WILKES-BARRE, Pa. — A line of cars stretched around this warehouse near Wilkes-Barre since 3 am for a food drive beginning at 1 pm on Saturday. Hundreds of families are waiting to pick up what they can for their kids at the first Valley with a Heart Food Drive.

With the holidays coming up and the current halt in SNAP benefits, Cassandra Coleman and Michelle Pack realized not every parent has enough to provide for their child at home. The two put this food drive together in a week to ensure no child goes hungry.

"You don't know what your children's classmates' situations are, so [we thought] how can we step in and very politely do that to be able to support those in our community," says Coleman.
