Three arrests have been made in two separate incidents in regional South Australia, one in which a man allegedly lit a fire before throwing a rock at firefighters and another involving a car being discovered in flames after allegedly leaving a "trail of destruction" on a property.

Both incidents occurred on Sunday.

Police were called to the second incident, at Kanni in the state's Riverland region, after a red Subaru sedan was spotted parked between sheds.

The owners of the property approached the car, but the suspects, a man and a woman, "drove off at high speeds through paddocks, driving through fencing" and "leaving a trail of destruction behind them", police said.
