Melbourne Storm star Eliesa Katoa has sent a message from hospital as questions are asked why he was allowed to play for Tonga in their heavy loss to New Zealand on Sunday.
Katoa copped an accidental hit from teammate Lehi Hopoate during the warm-up that knocked him to the ground.
He wasn’t put through a HIA for that hit, but sustained another knock nine minutes into the clash against the Kiwis.
The 25-year-old passed that HIA before his game was ended in the 51st minute when he copped his third head knock after an attempted tackle on Naufahu Whyte
He was taken to hospital with concussion symptoms after a medicab took him away from the bench area in the second half.
The Storm confirmed on Monday that Katoa suffered “seizure activity” before he was taken to hospital.
