The Giants ' 34-24 loss against the 49ers on Sunday wasn’t particularly unique for a team that now stands at 2-7.
But one thing did stand out at MetLife Stadium: The almost fully packed crowd comprised about 40% San Francisco fans. Maybe 50%.
The red was noticeable in the stadium as 49ers fans roared throughout the game. San Francisco gained 380 yards (5.8 per play) and had 25 first downs. The 49ers ran for 159 yards (a 4.1-yard average).
After the game, rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart made it clear what he thinks about all those 49ers fans in the stands.
“That was interesting,” he said. “I’ve never played at a home game where I felt like it was kind of lopsided in that department. But they have a good fan base, and they traveled well.”
