AUBURN, Ala. (WIAT) -- Auburn University is making major changes on the football field with the firing of head coach Hugh Freeze on Sunday.
Fans told CBS 42 they weren’t surprised by the decision, pointing to the Tigers’ struggles during Freeze’s time leading the program.
“It doesn’t hurt my feelings that he was fired. One and 12 against ranked opponents, 15 to 19 in total,” said Auburn fan Cole Harris. “I feel like it’s about time we fired him.”
The announcement comes after Auburn’s loss to the University of Kentucky, a game that added to a disappointing stretch for the Tigers. Many fans say the results simply didn’t meet expectations.
