SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) - The South Dakota women’s soccer team closed its season Sunday afternoon with a narrow 1–0 loss to Kansas City at the First Bank & Trust Soccer Complex.
Kansas City’s Olivia Platt netted the game’s only goal in the 16th minute, finishing a feed from Madelyn Muhr to give the Roos the early advantage. Despite sustained pressure and an 11–7 edge in total shots, the Coyotes couldn’t find the equalizer.
South Dakota produced several quality looks in the second half, forcing Kansas City goalkeeper Anika Patton into three saves. The Coyotes also held a 5–4 advantage in corner kicks and outshot the Roos 5–3 in the final 45 minutes.
