Indian wicketkeeper-batter Richa Ghosh opened up about how it helped to have conversations regarding the pitch with the likes of spinners Deepti Sharma and Sree Charani during the Women’s ODI World Cup final against South Africa on Sunday.
Deepti had unarguably the best bowling spell of the tournament, where she took 5/39 in 9.3 overs and was supported by Charani, who took 1/48 in her nine overs.
“I think the spinners that we have, whether it is Deepti or Charani. I ask them how the pitch is reacting and what is happening. It helps me and them as well. When I am keeping, I should also know how the pitch is reacting. I think that helps both of them. We talked about which ball would be good. I think that helped us a lot today,” Ghosh told reporters after the final on Sunday.
