The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) has warned Universal Credit claimants over "being paid the wrong amount". The DWP has taken to social media to issue a warning for Universal Credit claimants who are in receipt of benefits.

The DWP warned: "If you are starting a course or further education, avoid being paid the wrong amount by telling your Work Coach or case manager through your Universal Credit Journal."

If your circumstances change, you must tell us as soon as they happen. Your information needs to be up to date so that you receive the correct amount of financial support and do not fall into debt, the DWP has said.
