As the current government shutdown continues, local churches are stepping in to help provide needed food for thousands of SNAP recipients & their families.
Volunteers were hard at work putting out canned goods at First Baptist Church in Manchester Sunday. A pop-up food pantry was made available in the midst of an ongoing government shutdown that’s putting a hold on SNAP benefits.

“I'm on food stamps already and like, that's my only income,” Mackenzie Elder, a SNAP recipient, said.
The event is a lifeline for recipients like her.
“They have a lot of variety and I also like that it's in a church,” she said.
