Three men were killed in Dowa yesterday after angry mobs accused them of stealing and murdering a motorcyclist.
According to Mponela Police spokesperson MacPatson Msadala, the incident occurred at Mndolera Primary School in the area of Traditional Authority Dzoole, where the suspects were captured and set on fire by villagers.
Msadala said the three were suspected of stealing a motorcycle and a mobile phone belonging to a motorcyclist who had allegedly gone missing.
He explained that villagers became suspicious after spotting one of the men with the missing rider’s phone and apprehended him along with two others before assaulting them.
