HAMDEN, Conn. — Frequently busy but usually quiet, Hamden's Miller Memorial Library has quickly become one of the loudest places in town just days away from Tuesday's election. Scores of signs for various races line the sidewalks and parking lot, and more are still being added.
Volunteers are quick to stake down a sign on their patch of grass before grabbing another sign from the trunk of their car, as the green is diminished by all the different colored signs. Other volunteers and candidates call out to passersby, asking if they have made up their mind for Tuesday.
