A doctor who has dedicated his career to serving remote communities has been named the 2026 Australian of the Year for the Northern Territory.

Dr Felix Ho, 43, is a doctor with NT Health and also a volunteer paramedic who has led the St John Youth Program nationally.
The program is an initiative by St John Ambulance that provides young people, typically aged 12 to 18, with first aid training.
The cause is close to his heart: he joined St John Ambulance as a cadet at 13 and has since participated in frequent missions, including a United Nations assignment in Timor-Leste.
