INDIANAPOLIS — The death of a man who was shot in April on Indianapolis' near east side has now been ruled a homicide , officials said.

The shooting was reported around 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 9 in the 300 block of North Temple Avenue, near East New York and North Rural streets.

Responding officers located 24-year-old Wilson Astreide, who was taken to a local hospital in critical condition.

"Within a month of the shooting, detectives had located and arrested two teenage suspects for their involvement in the shooting," IMPD said in a statement.

On Aug. 10, Astreide died from injuries from the shooting. Police said that at the time, the Marion County Coroner's Office listed his manner of death as "pending."
