HOUSTON — Tuesday is Election Day across Texas and there's a lot on the ballot. On the ballot is the race to fill Houston's open Congressional District 18 seat.
The seat has been without representation for nearly a year. Historically, this district has been led by trailblazers -- the late Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee and the late former Houston Mayor and Rep. Sylvester Turner.
It's now up to voters in this district to decide who will take it over next.
Some of the candidates on the ballot include former Houston councilmember Amanda Edwards, Harris County Attorney Christian Menefee, and Texas Rep. Jolanda Jones, along with some newer younger candidates.
