FORT SMITH, Ark. — The Arkansas Waterways Commission will award more than $4.6 million in grants to four Arkansas ports and one intermodal authority, according to Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders' office.
Of those awarded, the Fort Smith Port Authority on the Arkansas River received over $1.9 million from the Arkansas Port, Intermodal, and Waterway Development Grant Program. Officials said the money will be used for warehouse space, a concrete materials storage pad, and signage.

The Central Arkansas Intermodal Authority in Morrilton received $400,000 for road work in a new port area
Little Rock Port Authority received $665,552.62 for installation of safety railings and gates along the dock edge of three docks, three claw lid lifters, and eight section
