NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC/WIS) - U.S. Rep. Nancy Mace is addressing what she calls security breaches at Charleston International Airport days after allegedly going on a tirade to airport police.

Mace plans to speak to reporters at 7:35 a.m. on what she calls “security breaches” at the Charleston International Airport following Thursday’s incident, which she says put her safety at risk.

“The only reason we’re addressing this publicly is because of the airport’s politically motivated decision to release misleading information and compromise my safety,” Mace said.

Mace receives more than 1,300 threats per year, requiring coordination with airport security on each flight, her team said in a release Monday morning.
