Kevin Durant and the Houston Rockets steamrolled a tired Boston squad at TD Garden, leading by as many as 36 points and never trailing en route to a 128-101 victory.
“Maybe we made fatigued decisions on the court and stuff like that,” Payton Pritchard told reporters after the game. “We came ready to play, but we got popped tonight. Move on and get ready for the next one.”
The blowout loss snapped a three-game winning streak for the Celtics, who edged the Philadelphia 76ers in a road thriller 24 hours earlier. It was Boston’s second back-to-back of the week, and that showed against a formidable Rockets team that hadn’t played since Wednesday.
