The DMK has filed a petition in the Supreme Court seeking a stay on the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the voter list in Tamil Nadu.

The petition was filed by DMK organising secretary RS Bharathi.

The plea states that several irregularities have been reported in the special intensive voter revision process in Bihar, and the Supreme Court has not yet delivered its final verdict in that case.

In this context, conducting a similar special voter list revision in Tamil Nadu, where elections are only a few months away, is against democratic principles.
