(Photo) Cal Carlson (left) former basketball coach at Central Lakes College, was as fit as any 72-year-old could be, bicycling in the summer and cross-country skiing in the winter. It was a shock when he finished a bike ride, then dropped dead at home. John Pecarich (right), who played for Carlson, said, “I respected him greatly. He was a real gentleman.”

(Photo) Paul Bunyan belongs to us, right? We have the Paul Bunyan Center, the Paul Bunyan Trail, etc. Well, the post office doesn’t think so. On Nov. 9, the postal service will issue a Paul Bunyan stamp in, of all places, Bemidji. Local postmaster Don Rasmussen says simply that Bemidji just asked for it.
