MYSURU: A 27-year-old man ended his life by jumping into a canal after he was accused of impregnating a minor schoolgirl in Periyapatna. In WhatsApp voice notes found on his phone, he claimed that the school’s physical education teacher was responsible for the girl’s pregnancy.

Ramu from Kudakuru in Periyapatna taluk, had sent the voice note on August 31 and later went missing. His body was later found in the Bettadathunga canal.

Ramu stated that he had no relationship with the girl and was being falsely accused of impregnating a minor schoolgirl. He claimed that the school’s physical education teacher was responsible for the girl’s pregnancy and said that the school was trying to cover up the case to avoid tarnishing its reputation.
