TUMAKURU: Thirteen people, including five from Andhra Pradesh, fell ill after consuming spurious liquor at Charlopalli in Madhugiri taluk near the border between Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka.

Eight of the affected are from Theriyuru and Chikkadalavata villages in Madhugiri taluk while five people from Chouluru village in Andhra Pradesh. The spurious liquor was reportedly sold in Chouluru village, Andhra Pradesh.

The affected individuals from Madhugiri taluk are being treated at NIMHANS in Bengaluru, while those from Andhra Pradesh are being treated in Hindupur. Fortunately, all of them have recovered and are out of danger.
