A judge has sentenced two men to death after they were found guilty of a mass killing that occurred during a home invasion in Deltona in 2004.
Earlier this year, the judge received a recommendation from a jury, which supported the death penalty for Troy Victorino and Jerone Hunter.
The state requires eight of the 12 jurors to recommend the death sentence.
However, the judge had the final say on whether the two would be sentenced to death or if they would live out the rest of their lives in prison.
Two additional suspects charged in the murder are already serving life sentences.
Former Volusia County Sheriff Ben Johnson believes this sentence was deserved.
