ESCANABA — Bay College’s basketball teams prevailed in a pair of barnburners here Saturday.

The men rallied past Rock Valley (Ill.) 71-68 and the women edged the Golden Eagles 67-65.

Munising graduate Trevor Nolan played a major role in the men’s victory, providing the Norse with 10 points and four steals off the bench.

The Norse were trailing 46-41 midway through the second half when Nolan stole a pass and hit an off-balance 3-point shot and tied the contest at 46 on a layup.

Bay freshman Adam Page, who scored 12 of his 15 points in the second half, gave the Norse a 69-68 on a 3-point shot with 16 seconds remaining.

Freshman Ziad Abounali, a 6-9 freshman from Egypt, then sealed the deal with a pair of free throws with a pair of free throws in the closing moments.
