CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Dennis Haysbert is a Cleveland icon. The actor cemented that status when he played the big-swingin’ Pedro Cerrano in the 1989 film “Major League” and its two sequels.

“I share a special bond with Cleveland fans,” Haysbert said in an interview with cleveland.com and The Plain Dealer. “I don’t know if you remember this, but once that film came out, the Indians, now the Guardians, started winning.

“I’m very proud of the fact that I had some small part in that.”

Haysbert returned to his on-screen home in early 2023 to shoot “Lost & Found in Cleveland,” a holiday-themed movie arriving in theaters nationally on Nov. 7.
