This week, the Oregon Zoo is offering free and discounted admission to coincide with the 10 th birthday of its Polar Bear, Nora.
This is the perfect opportunity for Oregonians to wish Nora well before her transfer to a zoo in Madison, Wisconsin, later this fall. It is hoped that Nora will breed and raise her own cubs at her new home.
Federal employees who are out of work because of the government shutdown, and up to three of their family members, qualify for free admission from today, November 3, to Sunday, November 9. Federal identification must be shown at the ticket gate.
The zoo has slashed the price of its tickets by 50%, offering Oregonians entrance at $13 during the same time period.
Discounted zoo tickets can be reserved online.
