Baseball doesn’t waste much time transitioning from the World Series to award season and, with it, more disappointment for the Blue Jays .
Not that anything will match the anguish from the Game 7 defeat on Saturday at the Rogers Centre, but when Gold Glove awards honouring the best defensive players in the majors, the Jays were basically shut out.
We say basically because Ty France was named the best defensive first baseman in the American League, a nice honour for him but it had little to do with the Jays. France, who was acquired at the trade deadline in a deal with Minnesota, did most of his stellar defensive work with the Twins, playing 101 games there.
