PIKEVILLE, Ky. (WYMT) - Attorneys for the man accused of killing a Floyd County woman filed a motion last week, objecting a proposed delay in the upcoming trial.
Michael “M.K.” McKinney is accused of killing Amber Spradlin in his family’s home on Arkansas Creek Rd. June 18, 2023. He is charged with Spradlin’s murder and eight counts of tampering with physical evidence. His father, local dentist Michael McKinney, and family friend Josh Mullins are also charged with the eight counts of tampering with evidence.
The murder trial is expected to begin Dec. 1, but prosecutors recently introduced a motion to continue the trial, citing DNA analysis that will not be complete by that date.
