Bhubaneswar: The state is set to experience its first spell of colder nights this week, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicting a drop in minimum (night) temperature by 2°C to 3°C over the next two days.

According to the IMD’s mid-day weather bulletin, the minimum temperature is very likely to fall by 2°C to 3°C across several districts of Odisha during the next 48 hours, with no major change expected thereafter. The fall in temperature will mark the beginning of the winter chill across the state.

At present, night temperatures remain significantly higher than normal. They are 5°C to 6°C above normal at many places in South Interior Odisha, 3°C to 5°C above normal at a few places in Interior Odisha, and 2°C to 3°C above normal at several locations in Coastal Odisha. Te
